***** AVEC Demo by Art 2009 - Vector Map viewer (soon to be GPS Navigator) for Sony Playstation Portable! *****

Hi Guys,
You read correctly, at last, a vector map viewer for the PSP is in the works!

This is a pre-release demo of my new program that reads and displays MP (polish format) map files.
The mp format is very common among the Garmin custom mapping scene.
Plenty of Polish Format maps are available, and you can use Garmin City Navigator maps if you own a Map product.
Just open the Garmin IMG file with the free version of GPS Mapedit: http://www.geopainting.com/en/
save the map file in Polish format, and you're good to go.

This demo version does not yet use a GPS device for navigation, although this is planned for the near future.
It is currently just intended to give a preview of how the maps currently appear on the screen,
and how they can be manipulated by the user.
Drawing speed is an issue at the moment, but there is plenty of room for improvement.

The demo supports Points of Interest and Polylines, but not Polygons.
Some polyline type colours are currently supported, such as hiking trails and streams.
A grid is drawn to the screen to aid navigation. Lines appear at every tenth of a degree.

Please read the instructions for controls in the application's intro screen.
This demo is locked to the maps it is supplied with. Other maps will not work, even if they are compatible.
Screenshots are saved to the ms0:Picture directory under a subdirectory create by the program called "Maps".

Any ideas, suggestions welcome.
I'm also chasing a bit of help with PSP GU if anyone is up to chat about it.
Cheers, Art.
